The Sub-Global Assessment Workshop are holding a series of free webinars. The first was held on 1st April 2014 at 12pm (BST). In this inaugural webinar the SGA Network partnered with Julie Birch from BirdLife International presented a session on the Toolkit for Ecosystem Service Site-based Assessment (TESSA) – a new ‘toolkit’ for measuring ecosystem services at the site scale which is accessible to non-experts and delivers scientifically robust results. The webinar was followed by a question and answer session.
The SGA are pleased to invite you to attend the second SGA Network webinar which will take place at 11:00am BST (UTC +1 hour), Tuesday 6th May 2014. The SGA Network secretariat will partner with Carl Obst, editor of the UN System of Environmental – Economic Accounting, to deliver a training session on Natural Capital Accounting. This inaugural SGA Network webinar will introduce and outline the broad concepts and issues of natural capital accounting and will be accompanied by an introduction from the SGA Network Secretariat presenting the intentions for the practical application of Natural Capital Accounting in Trinidad and Tobago Carl was the editor of the UN System of Environmental – Economic Accounting and led the drafting and preparation of the System of Environmental-Economic Accounting (SEEA). The SEEA includes an international statistical standard covering all aspects of environmental-economic accounting at the national level and encompasses significant advances in describing ecosystem accounting.
